Harold Sonnenberg brings a lifetime of dedication to community service and rural values to his role as Cemetery Superintendent. Having spent much of his life farming, he developed a strong work ethic and deep connection to the land and the people it serves.

Harold served as a local councillor for 18 years with Norfolk County Council, representing the Waterford area and surrounding rural communities. During his tenure, he was recognized for supporting community initiatives, preserving local heritage, and advocating for residents. His involvement in projects such as the designation of the “Rockford Road of Heroes” reflects his commitment to honouring local history.

Before becoming Superintendent in 2016, Harold was a member of the Cemetery Board, providing him with valuable insight into cemetery operations and governance. Today, he continues to serve the community with care, respect, and a strong sense of responsibility, ensuring the cemetery remains a place of dignity and remembrance for all families.
